A little bit of Skye in flowery form

If you are planning a wedding on the Isle of Skye, what could be more romantic than incorporating flowers from the very landscape in which you exchange your vows.

I love elopements and small weddings. Inspired by my surroundings, I love creating flowers which complement the colours and flora of the Skye landscape. Choosing locally grown, sustainable flowers for your wedding is not just a choice, but a commitment to leaving a positive impact on the environment. Our croft grown blooms are carefully nurtured, reflecting what is special about each season (spring flowers in spring, wild heather in late summer and copper coloured foliage in autumn) so that you have the freshest flowers possible for your wedding which are harmony with the time of year.

A couple of days before the wedding, I’lI gather the best looking flowers and foliage from my flower field and (responsibly) forage wild grasses, rushes and seed heads from the croft, shore and hills around me. Every day is different. The flowers which are perfect for a wedding today will be different to the flowers picked in the following week. This means every bouquet, buttonhole or flower crown will be a one off, there is no formulated recipe, just beautiful, seasonal and scented Skye grown flowers.

From late autumn when the fresh flowers are over, I create with dried florals, the same flowers I grew in the summer, but picked and dried and carefully stored so that no matter what time of year, your wedding flowers will always be locally grown, sustainable and chemical free.

Skye draws couples from around the world seeking an intimate and unforgettable wedding. A wedding day that is truly about you and your story. A perfect escape from the stresses and expense of planning a large traditional wedding. But even a small wedding or elopement takes some planning, especially if you are not in the same country. Dealing with different time zones and not being able to see things in person can make it stressful. I understand that and I’m here to help. Which is why I like to keep things simple and easy, so you can focus on the fun stuff and not get bogged down by the nitty-gritty details.
